BIOGRAPHY

Matthew Brian Schultz (born May 31, 1978)

is an American singer, songwriter, producer, actor and entrepreneur in the mortgage banking industry.  He is most known as a solo recording artist and producer under his birth name Matthew Schultz. He formed and played guitar in a band in high school with American Idol star Chris Daughtry, from the legendary band Daughtry. Matthew Schultz is known for his song "Somewhere Far" which hit over 6 million streams on Spotify.  The song was featured on Spotify's top playlists including "Chill Hits" and also hit viral 50 in 8 Countries. "Somewhere Far" charted several times on Itunes Electronic Charts and hit Top 30 on the official UK Music Week Commercial Pop Club Charts. 

 

There was a plethora of successful releases in 2018 for Matthew Schultz. In January, he released his single Promise For Keeps, following up with a version featuring Jamaican reggae singer Gyptian and an remix with the producing duo Electric Bodega in the following months. All these were given glowing reviews and combined for millions of streams on Spotify and over 3.5 millions plays on Soundcloud. “Promise for Keeps” climbed the iTunes UK Dance Charts to number 21 and also hit number 18 on UK Music Week and hit Top 100 on Beatport.  "Promise For Keeps" Electric Bodega remix featuring Gyptian has also charted on iTunes Electronic Dance Charts and hit top 10 on UK Music Week Commercial Pop Club Charts and also had huge social media support from some of the top dancers from NBC's World of Dance. Also, another hugely popular release from Schultz was another single, "All Night Long" featuring Gyptian and Rico Tayla. Matthew Schultz was also featured on hit Bravo hit reality show "Real Housewives of New Jersey" during season 6. 

 

Early Life:

Matthew Schultz was born in Pt. Pleasant, New Jersey and raised in Toms River, New Jersey. His parents, Mother Denise and Father Charles (Deceased) Schultz and his sister Stacey Schultz live in New Jersey.

 

At the age of 16, Schultz started playing guitar and singing seriously as a musician. He formed a band high school in Palmyra, Virginia with with Chris Daughtry. Matthew also would often perform with the band Supertanker formed by Peter Greiser one of the original members of Dave Matthews in Charlottesville, Virginia.  

 

Matthew Schultz moved back to New Jersey in 2001 and played attended Montclair State University where he graduated with his bachelors degree in 2003 with the highest GPA out of all of the University's sports programs.  He put his music career on hold and decided to peruse a career in mortgage banking and in 2006 became an executive in the mortgage industry.  Matthew Schultz partnered up in 2010 with John D'Onofrio and banking industry icon, Barry Habib whom also was the lead producer of Broadways hit play "Rock of Ages." They successfully built a retail banking platform for Residential Finance Corporation based out of Colombus, Ohio to over 2 billion a year in loan volume. Matthew Schultz and John D'Onofrio continued to build another bank Intercontinental Capital Group other banks to multiple billions in annual loan volume. He is currently Head of Retail Branching for American Financial Network based out of Brea, CA.

In 2013, Matthew Schultz collaborated with hip hop artist and member of Dipset, Jim Jones and producer Armando Guarnera on his first single "Money Or Me" and then again in 2015 for his release "We Own The Night" which was later remixed by producer Surinder Rattan.  Schultz teamed up with producer Armando Guarnera on his 2014 release "Crazy Heart" and featured Alessia Guarnera. In 2018 he featured Jamaican reggae singer Gyptian on the remix of his single "Promise For Keeps" and another version remixed by Electric Bodega.
